Getting ready spaces at The Upper Ranch

1. Upstairs getting ready area (larger area) - Getting ready upstairs overlooks the Ponderosa Room at Spruce Mountain Ranch. It comes with a kitchen area to store celebratory drinks, a bar area to put out food and a leather seating section for a large wedding party. There are small rooms to setup with your hair and makeup artist. This most noticeable feature is a large mirror at the end of a hallway that makes a nice place to hang a wedding dress and create dramatic lighting.

2. Downstairs getting ready area - This area includes a large table to gather around two walls with windows. This room is also often used as a place to sign the marriage license and eat a few appetizers after the ceremony.

Outdoor Ceremony at Spruce Mountain Ranch- Trey's Vista

Trey's Vista is an outdoor ceremony location at Deer Creek Valley Ranch, located in Bailey, Colorado. The meadow has a view of the majestic Rocky Mountains. The best features of this ceremony site are rolling hills behind the couple, the open field for family photos immediately after the ceremony and the 360 view your photographers will be able to capture.

Trey’s Vista is easily accessible by foot, with a short walk from the Ponderosa room. This ceremony site comes with a reveal moment with a large gate that can be opened right before you walk down the aisle.

Cocktail Hour at Spruce Mountain Ranch

Most couples choose to host their cocktail hour in The Courtyard. This space is right off of the Ponderosa Room when the large garage doors are opened for guests to roam. Wedding planners often set up this area for guests to relax after the ceremony while the wedding couple is taking photos with their photographer.

First Look with Family at Spruce Mountain Ranch

Many of our couples choose to do first looks with their family since there is plenty of space in The Aspen Room and The Spruce Room.

Seeing your family for the first time on your wedding day can be an emotional and special moment. For many people, their family is a huge part of their lives and they are an important support system. Seeing them on your wedding day can be a reminder of all the love and support they have given you over the years.

You may choose to put a private moment with their family before the ceremony into your timeline. This can be a great way for the couple to have a moment of intimacy with their separate families before the hustle and bustle of the wedding day begins.

Overall, seeing your family for the first time on your wedding day can be a special and emotional moment. It's a reminder of the love and support they have given you throughout your life, and it's also a reminder of the memories you have shared together. Whether it's during the ceremony or in a private moment before, it's a great way to start off your wedding day surrounded by the people you love most.

First touch with Letters at Spruce Mountain Ranch

A first touch is a private moment between the couple on their wedding day where they touch each other for the first time without seeing each other. It typically takes place before the ceremony, and it can be a special way for the couple to connect and show their love for each other before they walk down the aisle.

The first touch can happen in a variety of ways. For example, the couple might hold hands through a door or a window, or they might touch each other's hands through a piece of fabric such as a veil or a piece of tulle. The couple can also exchange letters or gifts, this allows them to express their feelings and emotions before the ceremony.

The first touch can be a great way for the couple to ease any nerves or tension they may be feeling before the ceremony, and it can also be a special moment for them to share together.

This moment can also be captured by a wedding photographer, so that the couple can look back on it and remember the emotions they felt in that moment.

It's important to keep in mind that this is a personal choice and it may not be for everyone. Some couples prefer to stick with the traditional first look or not see each other before the ceremony. It's ultimately up to the couple to decide if they want to have a first touch and how they want to make it happen.

Larkspur Wedding Venue

Spruce Mountain Ranch is one of the largest wedding venues we photograph.

Large wedding receptions refer to weddings where the guest list exceeds a certain number, typically over 200 guests. These types of receptions can be a bit more complex to plan and execute than smaller weddings, but with the right planning and coordination, they can be just as beautiful and memorable.

One of the most important considerations for large wedding receptions is the venue. It's important to choose a venue that can comfortably accommodate your guest list and also offer the amenities that you need for your reception. Many event venues, hotels, and banquet halls offer space for large receptions and may have several different rooms or areas that can be used for different parts of the reception, such as a ceremony space, cocktail hour area, and reception hall.

Another important consideration for large weddings is the catering. It's important to choose a caterer that has experience with large events and can provide a variety of menu options to suit your guests' tastes and dietary needs. Many caterers offer different types of service, such as buffet, plated dinners, and stations, which can be a great way to provide a variety of options for your guests.

Additionally, it's also important to consider the logistics of a large wedding reception, such as transportation, parking, and accommodations for out-of-town guests. It may be helpful to hire a wedding planner or coordinator to help you manage the logistics and details of the day.

Another important aspect of large wedding receptions is to make sure that the event is properly staffed, this includes servers, bartenders, security, and clean-up crew. It's also important to have enough seating and tables for all of your guests, as well as a plan for entertainment, such as music or a DJ, and lighting.
