6 Tips: How to Get Candid Engagement Photos

1. Warm-up to get the Jitters out! To get candid and real expressions, spend the first 5 minutes walking and holding hands. I often remind couples to look at each other and not at their feet!

2. Bring meaningful props! Hey photographer lady, what do I do with my hands?! Holding items that make sense in your hands will make you feel relaxed and natural. Do you two have a favorite drink? Bring a few beers and cheers with a good brew from your fave brewery.

3. Bring a Blanket. Be thoughtful about the pattern and colors, but bring a cozy throw to wrap up in. We can also use it to bring a few cuddling or seated poses into the mix!
